The Dalitso Project
Not every child who is part of our program is academic. We acknowledge that this is not part of everyone's area of interest or gifting. However, jobs in Malawi are hard to come by but having a trade and a skill is a great way to stand out from the crowd as well as find a way to provide for their extended family.
When long term supporter of the Dalitso Project, Mary Spink sadly passed away in 2016, The Dalitso Project received a donation towards the building of the vocational centre which had been close to Mary's heart.
This skills centre which is now completed in terms of building and is now in the stage of painting and kitting out the centre.
We will be teaching on knitting with commercial knitting machines, welding, tailoring and computing. We will also have a small internet café and commercial photocopying facilities, which we hope will also help to provide funds for the ongoing work in the skills centre.
